Hi all my UK brethren. I am looking to get a set of the new stamps honoring the Rolling Stones. We could also swap coins. PM me if you're able to help. Thanks
On the radio today - it is today the anniversary 33 years ago.
'March 15, 1989 : The Rolling Stones sign a contract for $70 million -
the largest ever amount to that time - for their upcoming US tour'.

Apart from that - have you now got the stamps, as nothing written above either way?
Do you still want them? There are so many [30 different] sets offered >

If you select which you want, I could buy them for you and post them to the USA -
then after you receive them you could send me some coins. :)

I remember that announcement.

Mick and Keef hugging and then announcing the album and tour.

All the jokes that followed about their age (45) and calling it the "Steel wheelchairs Tour" and "The Strolling Bones", people were very anti old age in the 80s, the decade of fresh faced 21 year old Duran Duran type hearthrobs playing synthesisers.

Yet now the Stones are still touring and we still have all these ancient rockers in their 70s and 80s playing that rock and roll music (Now being the same age as Mick and Keef in 1989, I can't laugh at it anymore). Fortunately the other good thing about the late 80s was people repudiating the drugs and booze lifestyle of the 1970s. Many of these ancient rockers detoxed and gave up the drugs and hence why they are still rocking and rolling now.

Good example - Aerolips - who also had a huge 1989 comeback after years in a drug enduced haze.
I love coins. Especially silver, gold and anything really old.

Groovy man! That looks great, you really look like you were in a 70s rock or hard rock group there!
The Jean flares, big hair, handlebar moutsache and plaid shirt scream the drummer or guitarist in Motorhead, Black Sabbath, Saxon or even the Eagles.

Groovy!!!

Who would ever guess the 80s were a few months away. 80/81 was still a lot more flares, afros, perms and big hair than shoulder pads, crew cuts or pastel suits!

In that era I was either in utero, a baby or a toddler - so no groovy threads for me.

Ironically, I saw the Stones for the first time during the Steel Wheels Tour, in Cleveland. My sister was going with friends, but one couldn't go, so she asked me to go with them. Great show. And, my wife was also at the show, even though I didn't meet her until 12 years later. We've been to two Stones together since, in 2015 in Columbus and 2021 in Pittsburgh. Also excellent shows.

Yes we lived a bit go out at 7 Chase the Ladies get home at 7 wash breakfast then off to Work get home crash out. If attempted it now I wouldn't get to the Front Door and definitely couldn't Chase the Ladies Some one once said he'd rather have a Steak Pie I now Know what he was on About. I still have the Moustache and the Bikes but the Drums have long gone.
