The only thing I'm questioning is the serif on E #7. Neither PCGS nor coinbook lists it as a separate variant. It seems to be the "normal" found on all the other variants. Any coin with serifs on the E would be listed under the other 5 variants.
Somehow I have the feeling there ought to be one more? The one I have marked with 5 (square base and curled top 2)? The talk is only about a knob on top of the square based 2!
To be thougt about, anyway the SERIFS have to be taken into account (USACoinBook, see above)
Quote: "rsirian1"6 variants in usacoinbook, 6 variants in Red Book, 5 variants in PCGS (missing no serif E), 7 variants in graphic. Does not agree.
In other words, "serif on E" is the common reverse. Should not be listed as a variant.
I'm ready to change variants into types, which is more correct anyway.
Variants or types are OK. My point is that the "serif on E" shouldn't get a separate year line since that is what is normal and found on the large majority of all the other variants/types. The graphic implies there should be 7 year lines; I maintain there should only be 6.
Last graphic is much better. I don't think "Serifs on E" should be tied to #1 type as it is found on all types (except "No serifs on E" of course). I would suggest something like this:
