Change of added pictures

Hi all,

I am quite new to that site and do really like it very much.
I did also already add a couple of new coins with scans to the catalogue.
However I just did recognize that the scans of two coins I did add had been deleted and exchanged with general pictures from somewhere in the Internet.
Do you know what might be the reason for that ?
Do you recommend to always put the copyright on it so that this can not happen ?
I personally think that pictures from real coins out of our collections are much prettier than taking generic photos.
Thanks for your advise.
Cheers
Zoelles
what coins do you mean. maybe I did it - sometimes I find pictures without a copyright and I replace them with free ones from worldcoingallery.com. Is this the case here? and yes - it's better to have a copyright placed. And you're basically right - own pictures are better of course. In fact that is encouraged and preferred - since it's not easy to get free pictures on the internet.
Maybe those pictures got replaced because of lesser image quality.
Sometimes it might look like they got replaced but they're edited so that they have a blank white background.

actually I am talking about two gold coins for Austria.
25 Schilling 1929 and 20 Kronen Franz-Josef I.
I did scans of them and a day later they have been exchanged with pictures that do not look like real ones.:-)

All other such scans have not been exchanged although they have the same quality like the ones deleted.
you mean

I didn't touch them, but those photos look nice.
Are THEY yours or the changed ones?
yes I mean them, but THEY are not mine they did replace my scans.
Mine looked like the 10 Kronen coin that is still in the catalogue.

maybe they're yours? but editied - see: white background. This happens after a while to all images here.
We're busy editing them. If not - sorry but please don't feel offended. btw.: you might want to set a copyright with your username here. I am already checking pictures that might need to get replaced in the near future because they might pose a violation of someone's copyrights. As long as we see that images belong to users of Numista - all is fine.  0:)
best wishes and regards, Andree
and btw: thanks for your contribution. of course we need users that are willing to make photos of their coins.
