Look at this label

Just saw this on Ebay. What else did I expect from PCGS though. All they care about is making labels rather accurately grading coins. But can they not just keep politics out of coin collecting? I thought that would be pretty simple but I guess not ¯_(ツ)_/¯

That label is customer driven. Personally, I don't see why people want him associated with their coins, but that's just me.
It goes both ways.

Is this also political? Or is being the __th president just a simple fact of history that a company uses for marketing?

And this president has been actually appearing on US coins and banknotes for longer than I have been alive! The US Mint bringing politics into everything!
New to marketing?
Sonny
Just to be clear I think it would be best to remove ALL politicians from labels; that one just happened to be the first one I saw

Sure, this is all marketing to make more money, but do they really need to have all of these labels? They already charge hefty prices for their other services so is it really necessary to make labels like these? They should already have enough money. Instead of wasting time and effort on labels they should make the grading process quicker and better
It's not just PCGS. NGC has them too.

Absurd. What planet have you been living on for the last 400 years?

Maybe it would be fine for presidents who have died let’s not do anything with presidents that are alive to make sure that politics stay out of coins for the majoritaty
there is indeed that rule for images on coins minted by the mint.

but placing a picture next to a coin in a plastic box,
even be it in poor taste,
is anyone's right who finds they can take money from fools so easily.

Bold of you to assume I'm 400 (only 382) but I guess companies will be companies. As long as they're making money off fancy labels from some people they'll continue to do so

I'm personally in favor of removing all presidents from coins and bringing back Lady Liberty

I don't really see the problem here. If you like the label and agree with the price then get it, if you don't then don't buy it. No one is forcing you to buy their labels. It would be more of a problem if the grading company excluded certain president/s, but then don't don't. So whether you voted for Biden or Trump (or neither) everyone has an equal opportunity to purchase the label with the respective president the want.

Fair enough. I wouldn't buy any of this stuff, but there's definitely some who would and they should be able to if they wish
