I'm happy to announce that it's now possible to search coins by image! It will make very easy to identify coins for which you can't read the country name.
Click on the picture icon to add the picture(s) of a coin and click "Search". You may combine with the other search filters.
I recommend using clear, well-centered pictures. It works well for modern coins that are no too worn. The accuracy of the results vary for older coins and for very worn coins.
Note that this feature relies on a third-party payable service. It may become a feature for premium accounts only in the future.
Thanks, works quickly and efficiently even when angles and light is not 100%. Also would it be possible for this to be expanded to filter images by source name from this Tread?
Hi to whoever is reading this. Did you know that TYPEWRITER (on a QWERTY keyboard) is the longest word you can type using only the letters on one row of the keyboard.
That's all very well, but how about a link to the new page?
Is it on the usual search page - if so, no, it is not there. https://en.numista.com/catalogue/index.php?ct=coin
What is the point of adding something but not telling members how to find it?
P.S. What is this about 'a third-party payable service' - I will NEVER use it if I have to pay.
Also, why are only Coins mentioned - what about Exonumia, or Banknotes?
Also, even if it were free, I would never use it.
Going on one site (Numista) then being redirected to another site - no thank you.
I do NOT want to get a computer virus.

Hey ZacUK, I hate the new version as well so I still use the older version but no problem here. The link to the picture is here too. On the picture below you can see I use the old version AND you can see the new icon:

That's not how it works. When you click on the icon you normally get redirected to your own hard drive where you store your pictures. There you click on the picture you want to identify and if Numista recognizes the picture you get a search list with possible solutions IN OUR CATALOGUE. So you stay within Numista and you stay within your own hard drive. The only thing you have to do is save (temporarily) the picture to identify on your hard drive.
Quote: "Xavier"Search by image is now enabled for exonumia and banknotes.
Great - thanks. I have loads of exonumia that used to not be on here -
I always look when I get an item to see if there is a page for it.
So now I can look to see if pages have been created since I got the items.
Currently there are 529 images in my folder, so over 200 items - as at least
obverse and reverse shown, and sometimes edges also and so on. Or the
seller's images from when I bought it, then my images when received.
Then just to decide which images are better - or need redoing.
