French Pacific Territories is actually a currency union like the Central African States & West African States currency unions - which also uses Francs, but no Centimes though.
People who collect "one coin from every country" should pay attention to this event.
As it has been discussed countless times, the definition of a country can be tampered with in a variety of ways, and in many senses this kind of collection cannot ever be completed with a reasonable budget and/or in a reasonable time. But here we have a new almost normal case: these coins are not exonumia, they are meant to circulate in a quite large territory (not in a toy-sized city or a single obscure island), they are not ancient or medieval and are not made from precious metals, hence you just need to have them... OK, only one for a start.
