Coin storage location [solved]

Hi all!

I'm new to collecting, and I'm starting my collection with some coins my parents stored over the years in a piggy bank - I know it is a very bad storage solution, but it is what it is, and now I'm storing them a bit more properly. 😊

My question is regarding the physical location of the coins themselves. I can register the coins in a collection at Numista, but how do I register the actual location of the coin? Let's say I have a particular coin, and I want to register that it is on album 2, page 7...

How do you guys do that? I know I can have an excel sheet with that information, but then I'd be managing the same coin in 2 different places...

Looking forward to hearing from you!

Nuno
On the page, it is at the end of each year line.
A grey box with three white dots in - click on that. The box for Comments appears then.
Token collector [1600-1899] with some coins
As a new member he won't have the option of using the old system (no three dots).

When you enter a coin there 2 comment text boxes. You can use either to add those comments.

Hi,
Thanks for your quick reply!!!

On which page do you see that?

I go to My Coins, do a search for all, select one of them and I see the coin, and all the years it was issued on.
Example:

and if I edit, this is what I get:

Here I have a field for a Private Comment which I could use, but it is not a location. And besides, I can (and do) have duplicates, which are not on the same location. How can I handle that?

Best regards,
Nuno
You would have to put the location in a comments box.
It's not ideal as there is no way to sort or search by comment.

For multiple locations, you'd have to just enter them both in the comments box.

Thanks for all your quick replies!

...and sorry for the noob question, but as an IT consultant, where things are actually located is something that is very close to my heart :)

Thanks again!

Nuno

Sort by comment, no. You can search by comment.

Huh. So you can. It's been a minute since I've been on here. Didn't know that existed.

Since I started cataloguing my coins before of the Numista era (to be precise a lot before of Internet), I have also a companion Excel catalogue, where there ar the info for the location
