Elongated pennies - machine stamped memento - Silly question

If you put one of the newer copper plated steel pennies into the machine would the steel centre show through the stretched coin?
Why speculate? Take one for the team and try it!:D

Can't answer about a copper plated steel but he's a picture from a previous post about a copper plated zinc US penny.

It might simply come out incompletely rolled because of the hardness of the steel core.
There are many machines at historical sites in the US that elongate pennies with special designs.

They usually charge extra though.

Not a problem. PennyCollector.com has a list of locations in Scotland. PennyCollector.com - The official website for elongated pennies, penny books and penny machines
The Steel Clad Copper Coin when Put through the Machine will retain its Copper Flashing if it has been correctly Plated.
