Over the week-end I bought this coin (0.50 Euro)

I admit it's a very bad quality, I still think I have found the year as 1848 and the mint mark as JA, but I'm not sure at all
W: 9.91 D: 29.07 T: 1.93
Thank you for any suggestions

Ha ha, I see more like an 1842, but probably Sjoelund with the coin in his hands has a better view. Everything else seems fine.

Yes, with jewelers loupe is probably the best way.

By comparison to the first 8, I agree with others the last digit does not look like an 8.
I wish there were places near me with coins like this in the "junk" bin.

I tend now to think it's a two, but since the lower part is "missing", it's just a guess in the end.
I have another coin from the same market, also for 0.5 euro, which I'll show in a separate thread.
