Hello Members of Numista
I also collect some Stamps as a part of My Collection
& I am sure that many other Members also collect Stamps
I would like to Appeal to Numista Team to add Stamps
Some people might say Numista is called Numista because it matches with Numismatics
Then Numista also has Bank Notes then it should be called Notapha
Please Consider it
Best Regards

To quote Xavier:

"No. Numista is only about numismatics."
I have no strong feelings about stamp collections in general (though I think most collections have merit if people enjoy them). But banknotes are probably a good example of why adding stamps to Numista would be a mistake.

It took many years for Numista to be in a position to start the banknote catalog and it will likely be many more years before that catalog reaches the same level of detail and consistency as the coin catalog. The banknote section is only made possible because of the large overlap in collections, a ready base of new volunteers to help build it, and the similarities in categorization between coins and banknotes (although the differences continue to pose challenges on that side of the site). I like the banknote catalog and I'm glad that we have it, but it's taken a huge amount of work and there's still a ton of work to be done there.

Numista is an entirely volunteer-driven project. Nobody is raking in profits from their shares of Numista LLC. From a user perspective, having one site that can track all of your collections in a consistent way would be great. However, every expansion of scope on the user side is an even bigger expansion of responsibility/effort on the operations side. As the recent discussions about change request backlogs and missing referees make clear: volunteer labor is not an infinite resource. Far better, I think to work on strengthening what Numista already has rather than stretch ourselves even further.

Your best bet is to look beyond Numista. Presumably there are sites for philatelists already.

As a philatelist I am not too bothered. But I would like to see a section added to the forum for the philatelists of Numista. It will never happen though.

This has been discussed previously.

Hello,
I'm not interested to expand Numista beyond numismatics (in the broad sense of the term, including coins, banknotes, medals, tokens, etc.)
I believe one of the strength of Numista is to be specifically adapted to numismatics and, as highlighted by seltsamesammler, handling correctly banknotes and exonumia in addition to coins is already a challenge.
For stamps, you may be interested to use a more general collection website, like CatalogIt, CollecOnline or Colnect.

I also think no, very happy with the consistency of no stamps policy in numista. But I would like to know where might stamp collectors go to catalog their collections? Something like or as similar to how its done in numista.
