unidentified pliers [solved]

This is kind of random but I found these pliers in an old tool box and have been trying to find more about them. it looks like a pair of horseshoe pliers but I cant find anything like it. I'm not expecting it, but I was hoping one of you could help me. Any help is welcome :)

I have seen these used by cobblers in India. They are called pincer pliers. They are quite handy to pull out small rusty nails that may have pierced the footwear.
The other tool they used and always impressed me is the awl.

My dad had a pair, they work really well. It was the only thing that he had for pulling nails out.

Also see horse shoe nipper. Years ago, horses powered most vehicles. maintaining and repairing the iron shoes on the horses was an important business.
