this coin is 3.9cm wide, non reeded edge, both sides engraved in relief; one side jhas a portrait of a longhaired man to the left, with rand inscription

I guessed correctly that 39mm was rather large for a coin - it is a medal.

Netherlands - Medal (Bronze) 1747 William IV, Prince of Orange (1747-1751).
Struck on the occasion of the appointment of William IV as
the first hereditary Stadtholder of all the United Provinces.
