Went to a local Sunday market today and a guy selling posters and coins was asking for £5 for all the 50p coins mentioned. All the 50p coins he had were for £5. The ones listed were what I wanted.
Would you agree or not? Benjamin Britten

I agree with you the Sherlock Holmes 50p is the only one that is worth that price in high grade condition (I got mine from coin hunting).
The rest from just above face value to around the £2 mark. So like I said I think the guy has overpriced his coins and don’t buy from him.
Hi to whoever is reading this. Did you know that TYPEWRITER (on a QWERTY keyboard) is the longest word you can type using only the letters on one row of the keyboard.
Overpriced for modern coins and you didn't mention what condition/ grade they were in. I see there are plenty of other Brits that have the coins you are looking for and are on their swap list. Why don't you ask to swap for them?
I got the Sherlock Holmes coin in my change yesterday and even though it was in really nice condition, it is not worth £5.
With the lack of movement of coins over the last 14 months some 50 pence coins have not been seen by me for that time and longer, so the guy is trying his hardest to get as much money as he can for them, when he may know that they are becoming a little harder to find.
If you go on eBay, you can find various sellers listing the same coin at hugely different prices. It is then left to the buyer to decide. If the buyer wants it badly enough, he may pay a little more, because next time he sees one, the price will have risen again.
You only have to look at the Kew Gardens 50 pence. When it was first issued, you could buy an UNC coin for under £10.00, then someone realised the mintage was just over 200,000 and prices went above £100.00 over night, and still rising. Have seen one @ £400.00
