Wonderful New Round I just found from Scotland

So I found this round today, looked hand made with considerable die errors and rim defects. I was taken aback by its subtle design having Jamaican looking Center piece surrounded by a strange laurel. After considerable research, it was found to be mass produced but highly sought after. Even producing a COA.
I did not have a ruler to measure but it is believed to be:
diameter = 40+ mm
weight = 34 grams
KM# WalkerSBr
material = butter
minted in Scotland
Picture of Obv Below
reverse was blank..
BTW, I got a few of these up for trade :)
Probably one of the most innovative funny coiny stuff seen in recent times - well done for bringing a smile.
Lets get ready to crumble.
Warning.
Do not get these items anywhere near tea or coffee. Something magical happens. They disappear
I'm just a collector of coins, not a slave to it, unless I am in a coin shop.
For all you banknote collectors. Link to my swap list.

Is it okay to clean it with fat, like butter, or should I just leave it as it is?
I think you've got one of these: 1 Bawbee - William & Mary - Scotland – Numista

There's something just a tad off about your coin. Details are crude and the colour is lighter than I'd expect. Perhaps a contemporary counterfeit?
Bawbee is an amazing coin - haven't seen it before.
Crumbs Well that Really Takes the Biscuit do they come in Rounds and Can you Dunk Them.
I think the butter planchet error is pretty rare. I'd send it off for grading if it weren't for those graders mishandling them. I sent something similar in, but it came back as a few crumbs!
If it is not a counterfeit, it would be like a war coin as the materials used for minting them are ABSOLUTELY TERRIBLE. So is this pointing towards WW3?:o
Hi there! I am an inexperienced collector with an interest in a lot of coins
Lots of dough, that's my valuation:8D

I bought this extra-thick piedfort version ...

Though to the untrained eye it looks like a pork pie.

Let me guess. It's from Niue.
Wow, I did not know this was a real mock of an actual coin, the Bawbee. That is amazing, totally blown away. Thanks for that one :)

I wouldn't go as far as saying the shortbread copies the bawbee. The only thing they share in common is the thistle. I suppose there is a chance that a Scottish coin like the bawbee might have inspired the design.

Tad random, but here is the earliest appearance of a thistle on a Scottish coin: 1 Groat - James III (Base Silver Issue) - Scotland – Numista

The coin shown in the catalogue is a beautiful example. It wouldn't surprise me if it's one of the best preserved in existence. Here are some other copper Bawbees

Totally enamoured by the designs. This is on my list of coins to look for in the future. Definitely want one.
I vaguely thought I had one somewhere, then found I actually had two -
One with a portrait, the other with initials.

This is what they look like in a “bank” sealed box.:O

Also I wonder how long they last in circulation?🧐
Hi to whoever is reading this. Did you know that TYPEWRITER (on a QWERTY keyboard) is the longest word you can type using only the letters on one row of the keyboard.

Nice. The Bawbee of Charles II is a fascinating coin. There was a corruption scandal at the the Scottish mint during his reign. The officers of the mint produced many more copper coins than was actually allowed by law and the mint was shut down for several years as a result. Successive monarchs stringently limited the mintage of copper coins or didn't mint any at all after this. It's amazing to think that the coin you have could be considered a counterfeit, despite being struck by the Scottish mint.

The coin in the bottom photos is a 2d turner of Charles I. A comparatively limited quantity of these coins were struck after the execution of Charles I, making them coins of Charles II, but there is no way of telling them apart.

Your best bet would be to look for a Bawbee of Charles II. They were illicitly struck in high numbers, making them quite common today (at least by the standards of Scottish coins). Most are badly worn as they circulated well into the 18th century, despite the Scottish coinage coming to an end in 1707.
Thanks for the info.
Will have a look
Can anyone help me? I just bought this, sorry pic is so bad, i dont want to break the mint packaging.
I think it is middle eastern, the writing looks like arabic?
I think it might be fake tho, the box has a sticker that says Vegan.

Awful counterfeit. The rough and bubbly surface is probably a sign of a cast counterfeit and you can even see some black where the plating has worn off. The best way to discard of it is to send it to me 8)

@ Mr. Midnight : Remember to put it between some cardboard and make sure it does not exceed 5 mm in thickness (some pressure might be needed) to be able to send as a regular letter. Be aware that if postal workers detect it there is a risk of it being devoured ...
Just call me Bram

No new swaps for the moment, still too many half-ongoing swaps to clean up!
@ Mr. Midnight
I think you should send me the coin, I have Sigma PMV and can check it out its authenticity.
It looks like it is clad. and te weirdest thing is the box says the dates are on the inside!
