This search gives NO result?

This does, so the problem lies in the word "pfenning?

Very strange and not convenient.

I suppose it's a kind of a bug?

I’ve had that on several occasions for example before I add a banknote or coin I always check that I is not already added to the catalog but when I type the denomination to check I get that but when I just type the number it pops up.
Hi to whoever is reading this. Did you know that TYPEWRITER (on a QWERTY keyboard) is the longest word you can type using only the letters on one row of the keyboard.

Hello

The values are written in English in the face value field. In English, this is called "pfennig", without the third "n".

If you want to search for "pfenning", you can use the quick search, as the titles record the currency as written on the coin.

I'm sorry! If I can't use what's written on the coin without knowing the English translation, then something is rotten in the state of Numista?

I strongly agree with this and I think we had this discussion before. A coin should be searchable on the text on either side. I experience the same with Polish Zlotych. 10 Zloty should yield the same results as 10 Zlotych.
They say "Pecunia non olet", but I know better...
Hello,
This sounds tricky to implement. The lettering field or the generic field seem to be the best options for looking at the face value as it is written on the coin. Still I understand your point. Let me reopen this suggestion for the moment.

Hey
Just wanted to point out, a similar question/issue has been pointed out here:

The thing is to have several search criteria leading to the same result:

pfennig, pfenning should both find either pfennig or pfenning
frank, franc should both find either franc or frank
rappen, centime should both find rappen or centimes
etcetera, etc.

all that in plural as well
