Enigma of today. RAOB medal

6 posts • viewed 230 times
I have been researching this medal for over a month now, but Google has not turned up any information about it, so I am turning to experts for help

This medal, or jewel as its properly known as, was awarded to a Plymouth member of the RAOB (Royal Antediluvian Order of Buffaloes) prior to the 1930's.
I have found absolutely nothing about it at all, so call for your help please to solve today's enigma.

The issuing organization still exists, I am sure they would be glad to hear from you.

I have been in contact with the RAOB, and no one seems to have seen one before. The biggest problem is that the records of members were destroyed during the WWII bombing of Plymouth, where this member lived.
The previous message, now removed, suggested it was issued by the Lodge in recognition of service during WWI. Not sure why the message was deleted.

That is terrible to hear of loss of records in the war -
war costs us so much, blood and treasure certainly,
but so much personal history also has gone up in smoke...

There could now be an even greater loss.
Due to Covid 19, which may have caused the deaths of some members, the secretaries of some of those Lodges believe they may never open again.
This cannot however be confirmed until they are allowed to hold meetings, but they are worried.
