When I search on the french side of numista I consistently get different results for my search than on the english side.
Is this because I'm logged into the en. but not in the fr. site? Because I imagine the database used is identical, only the translation of the individual pages are different???
Or am I missing something?
Give an example search because there are multiple reason for different hits.
Ok, I choose 'exonumia' and search for 'Napoleon 1798' and get 5 results.
The same search on the french site via 'jetons' results in 6 hits?
When I search for coins 'Albert I Belgium', I get more hits on the English site then on the French (I use Belgique for the French site)...

Token collector [1600-1899] with some coins
This is the extra one ...
https://fr.numista.com/catalogue/exonumia28767.html

It will not appear on the English search ...
https://en.numista.com/catalogue/exonumia28767.html
as nowhere on that page is Napoleon written.

If you use the, I will still call it simple search, then what is written on the page is very important.
Often one side has much more information then the other (most often depending on who added the page) or at least uses different terminology. Without a designated squad of knowledgable translators I see no way to change that.

The Belgium example the hits are nearly the same but both contain a few coins that the other doesn't but I think it were only coins that were not issued under Albert I but like on the English side coins with Albert II.

Albert Ier Belgium 65 hits
Albert Ier Belgique 61 hits
This isn't a bug, it's a feature.

Lettering on the coin (if entered correctly) should find what you're looking for.
But, Titles and Descriptions 'can' be different in either EN/FR catalogue.

The only way to get the same results would be for the search function to search both language strings.
It could still return the results in a single list in the language you're using, although most people wouldn't find much use in this.

Or use the filters and you will get the same hits:
English
French
Thanks for the explanations!
I'll try to use the advanced search more, it seems to give better results than the normal search...
