Help please. Possible ancient button or something else

This item was in a small box of old coins, but so far has me completely baffled.
21mm diameter
3mm thick at its thickest
8.8grms

Definitely some kind of metal, but I do not wish to rub or clean it.

Any help gratefully received

Was it meant to show two pictures of the same side?

Just realized my error, but thanks for poking me. I have changed it.

The material seems to be lead. I believe it to be a token, but that is a guess, solely based on the metal

Ah, now you mentioned lead it made me think of hop tokens -
used by farmers to hand to each employee when they bought him a bag of hops they had picked,
so at the end of a week they were paid by how many tokens they had. Something like that.

ZacUK,
Many me banks for your excellent reply. Having looked at some listed on Numista, it seems I am definitely in the right place.
The item belongs to a friend who wants to sell it, but I needed to get some accurate information first, so thanks again for you help.
