I know Xavier probably is busy with the Exonumia section just finished and need ajustment as time goes, but I thought it could be nice, at least for some countries (like Scotland or Hong Kong) to have a drop down menu for the banks. When there is more than one bank which issue(d) notes, it could be nice to sort by banks.
Kind of like we have with ruling authority or maybe just like with currency types?

Looking forward to what other thinks of this.

Thanks

As referee for both Northern Ireland and Scotland, this would be a very welcome addition. For now, I have to construct a search that keeps what I want and excludes all others, not easy if you want only "Bank of Scotland" or "Bank of Ireland". Try it and you'll see what I mean.

Are we talking about in the advanced search filters? Like the ruling authority filter?
I was thinking, Peterjhalford, like the ruling authority lists, a drop down menu :)

Any update on this?
In Scotland's case, there has been quite a few issuing banks with 'Bank of Scotland' or 'Royal Bank of Scotland' in their names.

These need to be distinguished from one another.

Aidan.
I agree that this would be a useful addition.

This addition has improved the presentation in the section on Irish banknotes.
Hello,
You can now search banknotes by issuing bank.

I'm afraid you seem to have misread the question. Searching by issuing bank is a nice addition but this about sorting by issuing bank.

Could I kindly ask @Xavier to look into this again? Some countries had a lot if similar banknotes issued, with only the bankname being different. Could we please have a drop down menu with banknames? Could also be nice with trans-national banks, like the Ultramarino bank of Macau, Mozambique etc. Since all banks/issuingentities are already catalogged in a drop down menu, could we get a filter in the serche bar, for banks/issuere?

Thanks! :)

Hello,

Sorry I don't really understand your question. We already have “a drop down menu with banknames”:

The dropdown bow shows the names directly only if an issuer was selected. It would be too long to show the list for all issuers/countries ; you'll need to start typing the name. A full list is available here: https://en.numista.com/catalogue/issuing_entities.php

Can you please clarify what you need?

Oh, I'm terribly sorry, I somehow missed it, even after reading the filters multiple times. Sorry about that and never mind then 😊
