Hello users of Numista here you can post your additions to your collection in April.
This is inspired by klei92 additions to your collection monthly posts.
Please lock this tread please.
Hi to whoever is reading this. Did you know that TYPEWRITER (on a QWERTY keyboard) is the longest word you can type using only the letters on one row of the keyboard.

This is the earliest I could find but that doesn't mean that someone can't be "inspired" buy someone else's copy. Like Neil was inspired by other "Show what you buy or presented" threads.

Oh sorry.

Since my name is around I may leave some words here to explain and not to rage (I have nothing vs no one here, please dont get me wrong)
The thing with this kind of threads is that anyone can start them but you need to have additions in your collection at least to open it. I have been around thoose monthly posts, posting my additions but never started one till this month*; I was able to do it since no one opened it and I had new coins in my collection
Even if i know that I am going to have additions, like this next friday (2/April/21) that a tracked letter will arrive my home, I cant/shouldnt open it, not even till I have even photos of the coins to upload
All of this is what I learnt just being around month after month with special focus in that kind of thread. Hope this little text helps you Worldwide collection to understand why people is a bit mad
Considering it was just days ago you stated you were on a break from creating new threads and accepted the errors you made in essentially spamming the board, it is ironic you have created the monthly addition to the collection thread with no additions to your collection and almost two entire days before the start of the month. The optics of such make it look like you have not really seen any error in the excessive thread creation.
I agree, this is a bridge across the border into tastelessness. The Nov 23 thread is also stupid and brainless. I suspect some of these members are either teenagers, immature or deliberately trying to rile the long timers here.
No threads about additions to your collection in a certain month until that month has started. In New Zealand that will be in about 11 hours.
For an April 2021 addition, you can possess the coin in March.
Again moderators need to enforce rules and stop the nonsense threads
I love coins. Especially silver, gold and anything really old.

Hey I am a teenager! Even I have a sense of how it goes!
I wouldn't call myself immature either.

The Nov 23 thread was just a joke as a reaction on this premature thread. Can't we have humor anymore on Numista?
But for the rest, I completely agree. That was also the reason for my first reaction here. No new thread about new addition should be started before the month has started, AND it would start with new additions. As you can see now, the whole thread is already compromised even before the first addition is placed.

Easy, ask him to change the name of this thread and so, any user with new additions can start a new proper one without all the literature we left here

I'm not a teenager, nor immature (although... ) and I'm certainly not trying to rile the long timers here. I was trying to make a point that starting a topic to show your additions for a month that hasn't even started yet is ridiculous. I suggest that the admins remove this topic and the one I created and we all agree that you only start a topic for showing additions if:
1. The month has actually started
2. You actually have additions to show
Funny how I have done around 1,200 posts here in 2 years, yet nearly 3,000 on Coin Community Forum/Family in 18 months and they have very strict rules about nonsense threads and anything politicial, gossipy, relating to trashy celebrities like cardashians or hip hoppers, any memes, racist or memical humour or any other childish social media pap that dominates most forum boards. No cutsesy pie Japanese anime stuff or Trumpite garbage.
As I type this, it is still March 31st in NZ on Daylight saving time, only Western Samoa has a later time zone and as far as I know Numista has no Samoan members.
I love coins. Especially silver, gold and anything really old.

I’m going to request the admin to lock this thread and let it die into oblivion. When 1st April does roll around and when someone does have something new to show for the month, let’s open another real thread with the usual headline construct.
it’s a shame the OP has not learnt anything from previous complaints and is deliberately disrupting some nice traditions here on the free discussion forum.

While I have not been a fan of the OP's "Show me your coins that..." posts and have spoken out against them, I think accusing him of deliberately disrupting the Numista community is a little harsh. I don't think disruption is his motive. I think his motive is just the opposite, to become part of the community by creating new posts that everybody joins. From reading his posts replying to other members' questions it's obvious he has a pretty good knowledge of numismatics and has a lot to offer the community without trying to hog this forum. Just my opinion...

i would generally give people the benefit of the doubt, however this person has already been made very well aware that (s)he needs to take a step back and think atleast a little before opening threads. The “additions to your collection (month) (year)” thread has been standard for more than a year now and simply going through the past threads would have made him/her realize that there are some standards to it.
While I dislike the fact that s/he has opened so many threads recently and much of it is garbage (imo), s/he is well within his/her right to do so. I just have to hope one day there’ll be a filter on Numista and I can deselect such threads by members I know I want to skip over.
But now this particular action is unduly disrupting a traditional thread that several people including myself look forward to; that is very disrespectful to many people. I’m happy the moderator has amended the title now, so we don’t mistake this thread for the real thing once it is opened.
I completely agree with you. Starting this thread has been disruptive. That is obvious. However, I don't think the OP did it knowing it would become disruptive, which I admit is part of the problem. The OP probably should have known.
I feel the OP is looking to garner the Numista equivalent of likes on social media - seems childish.
This is a targeted effort probably prior to launching their website. The username says it all!
edit: Andy Warhol summed it up succinctly -
15 minutes of fame - a short-lived media publicity or celebrity of an individual or phenomenon. The expression was inspired by Andy Warhol's words "In the future, everyone will be world-famous for 15 minutes".
