Hello everyone I have a unique 2002p Indiana Statehood quarter that appears to have been struck with the Kennedy half dollar die,it seems to a mystery as to how that came to be,any information would greatly be appreciated 🙏
Pictures, please.
Where are you seeing Kennedy half dollar imprints? Looks to me like it was smashed on a train track.
Under 5x at the top on obverse the Kennedy hairlines and the eye are visible or would tend to agree with you,I've looked long and hard at it so far it's still a mystery,on the reverse you can see broad lines that look like deep scratches but they are actually raised like a die crack,I appreciate your input.
Someone probably put a half dollar on top of it before it was hit by a train.
Yes, I can see the raised lines on the reverse but they could be caused by the coin being smashed. On the obverse, it would be better to take pictures outside the flip. Both sides of the quarter were struck. It would then have to be put in the half dollar line (with a cracked reverse die). I can't see this happening unless someone working in the mint wanted to make the "super error" coin.
I actually had that same thought but what are the odds even though it's possible,I really appreciate your thoughts on this one but smashed on the train track idea is probably more realistic. Thanks again

I was thinking the same thing. That's why I was trying hard to see if the imprint was reversed.
