CR issued, including the change of all the comments in the year lines. No use to Explain the "S" in each, should be in the description!!! We also decided once to eliminate rare, very rare etc.

​Yes, because you've made a mistake. The texts and the pictures don't add up, you've exchanged them. You only changed the "A" in "R" but you've forgotten to also change the pointing "between" and pointing "at". With the "R" it's the opposite of with the "A".

I'm a collector of varieties too, but a difference of only 0.2 mm is far too little for me to count as a variety. I would forget about the width of MARKKAA and stick to the letter R pointing to a bead or between beads. That's even visible with the naked eye and it's enough to pinpoint the variety.

Is it 0.2mm? If so, that is very small. Further, is this variation recognized by Finnish collectors?

edit: I don’t want to stifle research into coins, rather, I highly encourage publishing such findings. (In fact, in my opinion Ole is one of the greatest resources we have on all of Numista!)

I personnally think, that the year is so scarce, that it really doesn't matter, if two varieties exist or not. BUT THEY DO

The main thing is, that somebody had both coins in front of him and figured out, that they were different..... and noted it down and then even managed to make the images.

OK, now we have managed to redocument based on those images, which is fine. I also think the documentation should go into the comments of this coin, but certainly not with two year lines. I've made documentations of plenty of UK with only small, but real differences in the pointing of some letters like this:


which is a much "finer" difference than the Finnish coin?

Even small findings should go into the numista catalog for our common knowledge.

That's why I go on with this time consuming work for the best of all present and future collectors.
