Hello, this is a Peruvian 1 Nuevo Sol 1993, struck in medal alignment, although all catalogues say it should be coin alignment. Is it an error strike or are the catalogues wrong? What is the orientation of your coins, guys? Thx

Mine are all coin alignment, so Numista and the catalogs are right and you certainly have a nice find.

It´s a fake coin. Compare it to a genuine one, especially the lines around the mintmark. There are lots of fakes circulating in Peru, I even collect them by years. 1 sol fakes are quite uncommon, most of them are of 5 soles.

Wow, I think you may be correct! I never would have suspected that such a low-value coin would be counterfeit. None of the normally straight lines appear straight. Definitely a keeper in my book.

Hi,
could you please try to make better images? For everything perpendicular to have the coin completely round. Then I would make a documentation of the counterfeit against the true coin.
If I could also get images of the 5 soles, I will also document that.
