Hi laddies!
When I see a good coin in someone's swap list, I never have the courage to open a swap 8., is it fine to just open swaps with people?
Thanks,
Larry ;)
Sure!

I’d say have at it worst they can do is say they aren’t interested.

Also send a message, communication is key to good swaps. :)
I collect and deal in ancient Roman coin. In case you're looking for affordable ancient coins or need any help with the coins you already have send me a message.

Agree always try to send a message when you open a swap even if it’s only a greeting and asking if the member is interested in a swap.

Hi, yeah sure, go for it!!!! You don't get if you don't ask :)

Also the worst they can do is say no, so it's absolutely fine. I'd choose the coins you'd like, then send them a message :) Then they can see what you'd want from your list and whether they can choose anything from your list to match the coins you'd like, or if there's enough to swap those certain coins for (like if many people want the coins you've chosen, but someone else can offer them more, it gives them a chance to say no thank you to you as they know what you're wanting up front, or vice versa, maybe you've got the better coins :) )
I initiate 95% of my swaps and get a lot of rejection simply because I have nothing of interest to them. It is just a part of the process. On the other hand, most of my best swaps were completed simply because I asked and got something started. Nothing ventured, nothing gained. If I have nothing of interest to them, so be it but it is no reason not to try to initiate a swap. Sometimes you will be pleasantly surprised.

I must add that I always read their profile to see what their interests are to get a gauge on whether to proceed or not.
For me, open up as many as I can. Do not afraid to be refused.
Honesty is the best policy
Also make sure you know your shipping costs!

It happens all too often that I get a swap request by someone who selects 20 or more of my coins, but then later the selection gets reduced and reduced again or even changed completely...
It's also important to read ones profile in advance.
Doing so you may prevent unnecessary disappointments. :)
