We need to make a press announcement. There are no examples of this coin known but some members of this group have one. This could be big news.
Some people put coins they don’t have into their collections in order to look better though. I think that they would have to be certified by a 3rd party first.
They’re almost certainly just joking. 6% of the people that claim to have the Saint-Gaudens double eagle claim they have a 1933, even though only 13 are known and only 1 is in private hands. Most of these have to be discounted as jokes/trolls.

​I’ve thought about that as well. I think with incredibly rare coins there should be some sort of verification to prove you actually have it before you can add it to your collection to prevent trolling.

I fail to understand any benefits from listing a coin that you don't have.
I am sure some of our members have very rare coins.
