I just can't figure out how I use the filter "Ruling authority" when searching for coins. It always has only 2 options in the drop-down - All and Undefined. When I select a country in Issuers drop-down and make a search and then revisit the filter "Ruling authority" - again, the same 2 options. What is the purpose of the filter then? Or how are you supposed to sue it in the correct way?
Also I have a question on "Issuers" search box. It used to be earlier on Numista just a simple Country drop-down list, now we have two Polands, etc. What is it all about? If e.g. I want to search for coins from Poland or from Russia, what should I choose - the most upper Poland or the Poland below the first Poland? Could you please explain to me all these tricky things and how to effectively and easily search Numista.
What is a ruling authority on Numista? What is a country? What is an issuing authority? How do they match together? Why do we have such a complicated hierarchy? What is the purpose? Usually in coin catalogs coins are listed by country names. I would really appreciate any help and info to understand it all and start using Numista in a new "issuer-based" way
E.g. when I select Poland and Year: 1614 - I get no results as a search, why? What is the logic? What is the correct way of searching things? Another example, I want to show up all "1" face value coins for Poland 1900-2021, how do I do that? I used to make such searches with easiness several years ago on Numista but I cannot figure how to do that quickly now with the new search interface with breaking down to issuers, etc.
Thank you!
Alex
