1942 East African 5 cent is appears silver instead of bronze!? [solved]

Got this coin recently, the condition isn't great but the upper right area has some bronze-ish colour remaining..the catalogue doesn't have any silver colour ed 5 cents from 1942.
The dimensions are as per the catalogue.

Is it an exception or a fake?
Maybe it was put in a powerful cleaning solution? If yes was it just bronze coated over a nickel base?
Any help would be appreciated!

Thanks!

You can clearly see the original metal beneath ... just a silver wash or plating.
