Hello
I have what looks like an early Indian banknote but is silk type material rather than paper
can anyone shed any light on this for me as I have searched the internet and reference books without much luck
The Note itself has an age to it and has the look and feel of being very old I am just baffled to why it is on fabric also I noted there is no cashier signature possible souvenir??? Any help would be great thanks
It is likely a souvenir handkerchief of P-A16 or P-A17 both quite rare 100 Rupee Indian banknotes (but made with paper).

Hi
Thank you for your opinion
However i think maybe incorrect, The Fabric seems to be very old and looks to be a forgery used which many were used on different materials along the silk road, I was hoping to find more references to show examples of others as i know they attempted to do them with the Indian silk companies unofficially early Edwardian. I also think it is not a souvenir example for modern use as it is more obscure in its relation to public awareness but quite possibly a Victorian souvenir which i would be great to find out
