Make the background of collected coins and banknotes purple.

I don't know if it would be possible, but when browsing a list of coins within a certain design (for example, all of the Lincoln Memorial pennies or $1 Federal Reserve notes), the only indication that you already have a certain date is a "x1" at the bottom. If you have one, the background behind the text should become purple so that it stands out. This would also make completing a set way more satisfying.

You can make your collection color purple if you wish so.
