Coins that do not arrive

5 posts • viewed 195 times
I recently made an exchange with a German collector.

On December 2nd, he received, and he also thanked me, my coins that I had sent to him with international insurance with tracking.

But when I asked him for the tracking code of his package he never answered.

It's been over two weeks since he got mine and I haven't received anything.

He is an active collector:
- Number of ratings: 20
- Average rating: 10.0 / 10
- Swaps on the road: 11

What do you advise me to do?

Thanks
Have a nice day.

Two weeks plus the time the shipment went to you it is still a short time to assess the state of affairs. Don't lose hope , I definitely recommend waiting at this crazy time.

Nothing works the way we used to, a lot of running systems are now in some crazy mode. I would solve this at the end of the month, but the partner should communicate at all costs, At a minimum, it should explain if the shipment was sent by regular mail or with a surcharge tracking.
This requires the partner that it should explain immediately that it is a question of trustworthy behavior.

This is my opinion

Give it more time for sure.

I still did not lose hope for a mail from October.
Don't lose hope.
The mails in general are slower than normal since the Covid outbreak.

And the German mail is way slower now than last year.
Sent a letter last year and another 2 months ago. Last year it took ~20 days from Brazil to Germany. This year it took a month and a half.
A side effect of the lockdown I presume.
Personally I think it is very poor of the swap partner, not to have sent information of the tracking number. It would make me a little suspicious, as they should have nothing to hide.
Not to rep!y to requests is not acceptable.
I'm just a collector of coins, not a slave to it, unless I am in a coin shop.
For all you banknote collectors. Link to my swap list.
