Looks like the West African proposed Eco currency won't be introduced until after the end of 2020.

There are no banknote & coin designs that I know of.

I don't know if the Eco will be divided into any subdivision - like the Euro is.

If there are individual issues for the various countries like there is for the Euro coins, I would be collecting only the ones from The Gambia, Ghana, Nigeria, & Sierra Leone.

Still, it is only a proposal at this stage.

Once the changeover begins (if it ever happens that is), I wonder what it will look like. Will it be like the euro or will it be completely different? Either way, I best set about adding to my west African collection while I still have the chance...
