I recently came across this thread while browsing: https://en.numista.com/forum/topic36241.html

I thought I would create a version of foreign finds for 2020 for people who finds coins who should not be in their change.
Earlier in the year I received a Thai 10 baht coin instead of a two euro coin. I wasn't impressed with that one.

I heard that scammers replace 2 Euro coins with coins such as the 10 baht coin due to their similar dimensions but much lower value. Does this often happen to you?
found a lot of new coins this year so here's my list
  1. German 1 euro cent
  2. portugal 1 euro cent
  3. Irish 1 eruoc cent
  4. greek 2 euro cent
  5. italian 2 euro cent
  6. greek 5 euro cent
  7. susan b Anthony dollar
  8. US 2000 dollar

tons of circulating coins ( 13 dollars ) from coin stars and floor finds.

2 silver found in coin star 1966 and a 1968
Due to COVID, my use of coinage this year is far below normal levels, and so too is my tally of foreign finds. I recall there being a 2007 Swiss half franc at the CoinStar a few months ago, but at this point, I'm excited to find *any* coins in the few times I'm away from home.

Why? There's no evidence the CoViD is transmitted on coins. It's the same risk at taking in a door knob.

I am only leaving my house only a few times a month. Most of my purchases have been online, where cash isn't a practical option. For in-store purchases, I'm still using my credit card; since there is a nationwide coin shortage, businesses I visit are asking customers to limit cash payments to those times when they have exact change only.

I see. It's good you play it safe mate, both for your sake and others in your surrouding.

I've heard many people talking about the coin shortage, but I yet haven't foubd any sources to really confirm it. Is it just regional shortages, or is it really a nation wide one?

Cany speak for the whole country, but it’s also going on in SI and most of Texas.

kindly help!
Since my childhood I have been a keen collector of coins and stamps. Starting getting from friends and relatives, and many a times i would swap chocolates, candies, cookies, books, junk jewelry, a scarf or a toy for a new coin with my school friends.
