Hi!
So the modern English (not British) banknotes could use Elizabeth II as ruling authority. She seems to be the only British/English monarch, who appear on the English notes. Previus monarchs don't seem to have followed the notes in the same way as on coins.

The first banknotes of the Bank of England were issued in 1694 during the reign of William & Mary - King William III of England (II of Scotland) & Queen Mary II of both England & Scotland.

Every reign since then should be listed for the Bank of England's notes.

Should also be done for Scotland as well - but from King William II of Scotland onwards - since 1695.
