Inherited Banknote [solved]

3 posts • viewed 106 times
I've recently been given a collection of items to sort through on behalf of my partner's family. Among the items is an unusual banknote that I have no explanation for. The previous owner never left Australia and did not complete military service so how he got it is a mystery to us.

So far I've managed to establish it came from The Bank of Syria and Lebanon and that it's a 1 Lirve note, but other than that I have no information. I'd be most grateful for any information that might be available. I do apologise for the condition it is in, but it was already in this sad state when I discovered it.
