Description

This 1998 BU Set of coins was minted by  The Royal Mint in Llantrisant and issued by the Reserve Bank of New Zealand. The set was packaged in a blister type folding coincard and was inserted in a slipcase.

The set contains six standard definitive coins, 5c, 10c, 20c, 50c, $1 & $2.

This was the last New zealand Mint Set to feature the Raphael David Maklouf 3rd Portrait of Queen Elizabeth II on the obverse.

The NCLT $5 coin is celebrating the Royal Albatross, one of the largest seabirds known. Renowned ocean wanderers, they travel vast distances from their breeding grounds to feed. The Royal Albatross, with its massive three metre wingspan, flies an estimated 190,000 kilometres a year.
