VA 1931 - 05: No central stalk, pellet below A, pellet above M. No pellet in ring in front of horse. This is Sills DK 555 (horse without phallus, CVNO under horse) - there does not appear to be a pellet below A on Van Arsdell's example or any coin.
VA 1931 - 07: No central stalk, pellet above M. Pellet in ring in front of horse. This is Sills DK 555 (horse with phallus, CVN under horse, O above the legs).
Chris Rudd (ABC) ‘Wild’.
Sills Wild A, Rounded Leg (9 obverse, 20 reverse dies): North Thames Coinage; Type: Cunobelinus; Staters: Class 3b - Wild A, Rounded Leg. The angled line at the bottom of the stem is as on Verica's Vine Leaf (Sills 366).
Sills DK 554: Thin barley ear, no pellets in obverse field (although many dies have flaws that look like pellets). Variants:
- CVN under the horse, O above the legs. This is Chris Rudd's ‘High O’ (Chris Rudd List 143, 2 Nov 2015, lot 39).
- CVNO under the horse (see CCI 11.0193).
- Five pairs of grains instead of six. CVN under the horse, O above the legs.
Sills DK 555: Bulging barley ear, pellet above the M of CAMV (a privy mark). Variants:
- Horse without phallus, CVN under the horse, O above the legs (see CCI 95.1445).
- Horse without phallus, CVNO under the horse (see CCI 95.0546).
- Horse with phallus, CVN under the horse, O above the legs (VA 1931-07).
- Horse with phallus, CVNO under the horse (one die, see BMC 1799 and CCI 08.8164, may have CVN without any O).
The equivalent quarters are the CAM CVN CVN (ABC 2819) and Wild A Rounded Leg (ABC 2816).
