Monety z tej serii zostały wyprodukowane przez mennicę w Lizbonie latem 1755 roku i przechowywane w "India House" w październiku.
Były gotowe do wysłania do Mozambiku, gdy 01 listopada 1755 r. straszliwe trzęsienie ziemi, a następnie pożar i słońce zniszczyły Lizbonę.
"India House", obok portu, również został zniszczony. Częściowo zostały one uratowane i wysłane do Mozambiku.

The coins of this series have been produced by the “Lisbon Mint House” in the Summer of 1755 and stored at the "India House" in October.
