Talbot Norfolk Wolf A: Talbot identifies this as the first Norfolk Wolf stater, along with the quarter (ABC 1459), and the first local Icenian coinage. It was followed by the much more substantial Norfolk Wolf B (ABC 1399) issue. There are three varieties based on the obverse fibula (clasp at the top of the cloak) and pellets below the wolf. Die groups:
Group 1 (24 coins, 9 obverse, 8 reverse dies): Hooked fibula. One large pellet with crescent below wolf (see CCI 98.1201). This includes COI 1d.
Group 2 (5 coins, 1 obverse, 3 reverse dies): Hooked fibula ending in a tulip-like shape. Tiny pellet above large pellet and crescent below wolf. This is COI 1e.
Group 3 (1 coin, 1 obverse, 1 reverse die): Hooked fibula. Two tiny pellets above large pellet and crescent below wolf, long jaw reaches crescent. This is COI 1f.
Group 4 (84 coins, 3 obverse, 12 reverse dies): Hooked fibula. Two tiny pellets above large pellet with crescent below wolf (see  CCI 09.4724 and Chris Rudd Auction 164, lot 18, 11 April 2019). This is COI 1f.
