Comments

(en) The titulature recalls the victory of the king during his expedition to Italy; it is later than 540. Theudebert would have struck in the name of the emperor before the Italian campaign in 540, and in his name after the campaign. This expedition undeniably marks a monetary change and the already growing importance of the workshops of the South. See Prou, p. XXXII. The attribution to Bonn proposed from Belfort is confirmed by Lafaurie, RN, 1983, p. 120.
