This commemorative $2 coin produced by the RAM is part of the "XXII Commonwealth Games" seven coin set made available for a price of $15 from Woolworths supermarkets from 20/7/2022.

It was also available from the RAM and released into circulation through the tills at Woolworths stores. The set also contains two other coloured $2 coins and four non-circulating $1 coins. The theme for the set of seven coins is the 2022 Commonwealth Games held at the City of Birmingham. The three $2 coloured coins are being released into circulation at Woolworths supermarkets over a period of three weeks.

The 2022 Commonwealth Games 7-coin set was released in two primary uncirculated versions: an exclusive folder sold directly through Woolworths and a mint-issued version sold through the Royal Australian Mint (RAM) and Australia Post. While the coins inside are identical, the folders differ in their branding and availability.

The 2022 Birmingham Commonwealth Games brings together Australian athletes with representatives from 70 Commonwealth Nations in a spirit of international goodwill and camaraderie.

This $2 coin features the Letter "U". The other two $2 coins feature the Letter "A" and "S".

The four $1 coins in the 7 coin set feature energetic figures that depict each of the sports and para-sports that will be contested by thousands of athletes from 28 July - 8 August 2022.
