Moneta przedstawia statek Duyfken ("Mała Gołębica"), którym płynął kapitan William Janzoon, gdy odkrył wybrzeże Australii. We współpracy z Królewską Mennicą Holenderską, Królewska Mennica Australijska umieściła na monecie holenderski znak mennicy (kurs na żagle) oraz specjalny znak w postaci tulipana po lewej stronie głównych żagli. Po prawej stronie znajduje się róża kompasowa.
