Maharadża George Jivajirao Scindia (26 czerwca 1916 - 16 lipca 1961) był ostatnim panującym maharadżą stanu Gwalior w środkowych Indiach i rajpramukh (mianowanym gubernatorem) dawnego stanu Madhya Bharat w niepodległych Indiach. Jivajirao był potomkiem rodziny Scindia, wywodzącej się od generała Maratha Ranojirao Scindia. Ranojirao stał na czele armii Marathów w Malwie w pierwszej połowie XVIII wieku, gdy imperium Marathów szybko się rozwijało kosztem imperium Mogołów. Daulatrao Scindia przeniósł stolicę z Ujjain do nowego miasta Lashkar, w pobliżu historycznej twierdzy Gwalior. Scindia zaakceptowali brytyjską suzerenność w 1818 r. po zakończeniu czerpania z niej korzyści i zrujnowaniu Marathów w Trzeciej Wojnie Anglo-Maratha. Liczący 68 291 km² Gwalior był największym stanem w Centralnej Agencji Indii i jednym z pięciu największych stanów książęcych w całych Indiach.
