I have had a few swappers ask me to use stamps to send a package, and I also had several send me their package with a ton of stamps on it. So I cut the stamps off and saved them to pack in my next swap, and then I started saving any stamps from any letters that I have been getting.
First Question, is this a good idea, a good way to give someone a little extra bonus for free?
Second Question, how many of you guys collect stamps and would like to get some free stamps in a swap?
Taking a break from swapping for a while, but still interested in pre 1799 Spanish coins, I will make time for that!
yes i do the same thing by saving all the stamps people send on swap packages but i really don't collect them - i just like the little reminder of where i've swapped to. but i don't go out of the way to get stamps. i've never bought them or anything. i just like to keep them; i guess some are worth something. lady at the post office tells me to keep the whole package; people like to collect by the issuing cities. so maybe it might be smarter to keep the whole envelope intact also from what i hear.
That`s great that you send stamps, but, for collecting purposes, make sure that they are removed from the envelope by wetting up in a dish and drying between two paper towels. That`s how my father has done it and that`s how everyone should do it. The envelope is not neccessary unless it was from a top dog of a company or a case like that.
If you want stamp values, ask me first because I have all the recent catalogues. Bonus stamps should be at minimum value (.20) unless you`re a good kid and send rarer stamps.

Cool idea, I don't collect stamps but my older brother does so I save mine for him. You should be careful you don't pack to many you don't want to put the postage up lol
I do the same thing, keep stamps from incoming mail. I avoid using the big, flashy Christmas stamps when mailing through dishonest postal services. I don't want to give them a colorful reason to open cards, look for money (that I would never, ever send through the mail) and destroy photos meant for friends and relatives.
