fake coin?

I bought a coin on ebay the 2€ from 2007 grace kelly monaco

but the coin has a thinner border and on the coin is written TRIAl Essay.

What does that mean? is it a fake or a different version or something?

The TRIAL and ESSAI (and PROBE) are three languages to say it is a test piece -
to see what the public think. Sometimes these are official coins, sometimes not.
