Hi Experts! Can you help me verify if these are fake or real thing? I just started with Chinese coins and need help with these. I edited the contrast so you can see better. Thanks!
I am not an expert but from my own experience if you bought them in China from the same shop I think fake. Here are my reasons: the central holes have a lot seepage from casting. I have not seen coins like that before. The dirt on them is the same. Part of the way they make them look old. They all have the same wear on them.
I bought 12 tongbao in Dali from a shop. They were from multiple Emperors over 300 years and they had the same characters as yours but not the center hole seepage. I did not pay a huge sum for them but when I got them home it did not add up to real coins. I saw some graded and slabbed coins in China guaranteed to be real but the were 200 yuan each which is very overpriced.

Thanks for the reply. I have bought them online auction in Ukraine. The description just said "5 Old Chinese Coins", I paid 5$ for them which seem quite cheap so I decided why not?

Are you sure one 1 square measures 5mm? Then all the coins have around 35mm
Chris
Sorry, yes, that's not 5mm, I was trying to be helpful but it bit me in the ass I assumed that the standard size for this square is 5mm like ususal but in this notebook t's 3,5ish...
Anyways the coin size is in the ballpark of 26-27mm
