Not sure why I kept them out. Just to see what and how much I got. My friends all save them for me a gas station and a store. I always get and nice stack of them every month. I do not get any of the new ones, they are magnetic and are pulled very fast.
Well ended up with 2dollars and 5 cents. a total of 29 coins.
1 cent 10, 1940,61, 69,{2} 76, 77,{2} 79,82
5 cents 5 1965,68,72,80,85
10 cents 12 1968.73,74,76,79,{3} 81,82,{2} 83,89
25 cents 2 1969, 1989
I find it very strange I still get the 1 cent coins. They stopped making them in 2012. I still get at least one a month. The nice ones that month was the 1940 1 cent and the 1968 10 cent. Not sure what one it is of the 3 types. Any one else in the US still finding Canadian coins in there pockets?

edit I think I have around 20 lbs now of extra Canadian coins now. Mostly 1968 to 1989. Not sure what or way.
It is, what it is, or is it.
That's a nice stash of Canadian coinage...!

I have not found a single Canadian coin here in the US in at least two years. I agree that the newer coinage gets sorted out very quickly now (steel / magnetic).

I heard that a lot of Canadian "stackers" are hoarding 55-gallon drums of old Canadian pennies. I know they're not used in change up there but some still sneak into currency down here. Just haven't seen them lately.

I used to save all of my Canadian coinage. I dumped most of the newer stuff a couple years back (steel / magnetic) but I kept the older stuff. One day soon I'll add these to my swap list. Let me know if anyone wants it:

I used to coin roll hunt pennies a lot, they are fairly common around here. On average per box I would say I would find 25-30 Canadian pennies. & about 20-30 wheat pennies per box. The reason for higher numbers may be because how close I am to the border (I live only about 2 & 1/2 hours away from the Detroit Canada border). They are still seen in change around here every once & awhile & are fairly common.

Part of the reason may be they are accepted here & are really worth less than a penny, so on the people spending the pennies they are making a little extra with there canadian pennies in the us.
