What is your pet name for doing something related to coins?

When I was younger, my grandfather had an interesting pet name for my grandmother going to play bingo - he called it "going to church".. It was a joke between them and became their general term for anything bingo.

My wife was never interested in coins, so when I picked up the hobby again since being a teenager, at first I was filling my denomination albums by buying boxes of coins from the bank and coin roll hunting. When I was busy for a few hours or so, she would say that I was busy "counting my money". Now she and I have somehow come to a general name that I am off "coining", when I could be doing anything related to the hobby - sorting, pulling coins for a trade, searching eBay for missing coins in my birth year set, visiting my LCS or off at a coin show, bringing new coins to my mother (who started me off in the first place) - anything! It is all "coining".

What is the pet name or phrase used by you or your family to describe the time when you are doing something related to the hobby/passion/obsession of coins?
My other half calls my coin collecting "nerding" lol
My wife calls it "me time" as I am not with her.
I'm just a collector of coins, not a slave to it, unless I am in a coin shop.
For all you banknote collectors. Link to my swap list.

My wife just calls it "playing with my coins"

Exact same words as my girlfriend, though often it's 'playing with your stupid coins' or 'stupid medals'
interesting how "playing" seems to be the common perception of others, when it reality we are quite serious about it, even in fun..:D
In my household, they are known as Coinses (my preciousssss)
Just because you can't see it ... doesn't mean it isn't there - Anon.

Thanks to my youngest daughter when she was little it got the term “doing toins” somehow it seems to have stuck and now is kind of a ongoing joke.

When I was young, my dad would call me “Bikari” which translates into Beggar in Hindi :D. Couple reasons for that... I’d be constantly looking at everyone’s coins and asking spare change. Also I would very gingerly spreadout and sort coins every now and then and tell everyone not to come near or touch anything. I didn’t particularly like being called that, but now that I think about it, it was pretty apt :D

Not with my family I dont.
But my Corgi always sits and stares or keeps nudging me when I do my coins.
She also stands in front of my lawn tractor when she wants attention while Im mowing.
She knows this is unacceptable, but continues to do it.
So, now I tell her Im "Going to work "when this happens. She puts her ears down and sadly retreats to her bed,or the porch...It works.
Because I have a lot of "junk" silver, my wife thinks that is what my whole collection is. So, when I'm working on my coins she says I'm "fondling my junk" :P
Coining as well here. :D

My wife collects coins too which is nice.

But when I've got my collection out, it's generally referred to as "Making a mess" :-)
My wife calls it "coin geeking"

holy crap, literally spit out my coffee laughing at that one.. :O
I call it mindfulness. It's the best purpose for this otherwise completely useless activity.
My wife calls my office “the coin cave.” When I go to the office I often say “I shall retire to my nerdery.”
My parents kinda hate my obsession with the hobby, recently my Father said I'm not allowed to spend more than $5 in coins, but my pet name is "Gastador de dinero" which translates to Money Waster.
I like cheese

Yes, thank you for correcting me, I'm only allowed to spend no more than $5 per month due to me spending all my allowance on coins every month, my father is trying to make me prepared for real life because I'm almost 15, but I want my monthly budget to be $15.

For that double entendre....on a scale of 1 to 10....I'd give you......;-)
I call it getting out the Play money.

I know its childish but part of my fun I derive from the coins is playing with them.
As a small child I went through packs of cheap play money (plastic coins and banknotes out of tissue paper - Toyland was the main one) - somehow I always ended up losing them.

Around 8 or 9, my mother visited one of her friends who was Dutch and she had a huge box of coins and I would always play with them. Even now I collect serious coins, but have a pile of world coins, which are my playmoney.

Old habits die hard.
I love coins. Especially silver, gold and anything really old.

- Yes, lots of good expressions for your past time, but that RGormanJr really made me laugh. I have to admit I've got no 'pet name' for this hobby other than "checking my stash."
