I collect mainly American coins but I picked up this interesting silver coin and would love some guidance in identifying it. Measures 26mm at the widest and 24mm on the less wide side (out of round) and weighs 5.4 grams. There are issues with the surface so I’ve not been able to decipher the date. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you,
This appears to be a Persian Safavid from the reign of Sultan Husayn (1694-1722). Haven’t found an exact match, but tantalizingly close- also the size and weight match up. This answer came from another forum.

Yes, I agree with CoinKitty. In Krause World Coins, 18th century, both weight and design match a Sultan Husayn silver Abbasi Type D, KM 282. Just below the center of the first photo is the date. Last two digits are damaged but it looks like it could be AH 1122 or 1132. These coins are listed for 1132 but not for 1122, so I'm going with 1132 (1720 AD). Sorry, I can't help with the mint (9 mints listed).
