I have this unknown coin in my collection for decades. I purchased it from a roadside vendor. However I realised that this could be the "Dam Type" coin of Mughal Emperor "Akbar". I cant read the markings of the coin, Please help in reading the language of the coin and possibly in identifying its era and the dynasty to which it belongs. It is made of copper, and you can see some level of oxidation on the coin.
Sorry for late reply. The diameter of the coin is 16 mm and its weight is 11-12 grams (Approx.)
I have been studying the Persian symbology on the coins for the past few days and the middle symbol on the second image means "Falus" (Copper Coin ). It was printed on all denominations of the Dam coins in Mughal days. However its design tends to change during different regimes. I MUST SAY THAT the Falus Design on the second image is not the same as those found on the Akbar's coins but on those found on Aurangzeb or later Mughal Emperors' coins.
We can only get the definite answer once someone deciphers the Persian language written on both obverse and reverse of this coin. But one thing is certain that it belongs to the Mughal times.
