I could need some help in the search for knowledge about this token I received today.
Its minted under the rule of Queen Anne, made most likely from copper, got a diameter of 25mm and a weight of 6,41g.
In the reverse you can see two persons, one of them is Queen Anne I would say. Also you see 2 suns and some flowers?
Ty for any information.
This is listed under Popular royalist medalets or counters.
r. “Aristocrat, bewigged and beardless, standing on left, pointing to ground: Queen Anne standing on right, facing him and lifting up her skirt: English full rose between them; radiant sun on each side; star above, plus four stars in exergue.”
“The aristocrat is identified as the French king, Louis XIV. The main message of the design appears to be showing Queen Anne serving the aristocracy on this piece, just as she serves the poor on a related issue.”
Thank you for your help, I wasnt able to see anything about this medalet in the Internet. Also got an relatively similiar one showing Anne and King Louis and "All for love" written under them. That one got some information in the Internet, where I was able to find a date (1714). Do you have a date for this one in your catalogue?
Iam gonna add both to numista later.
